The Grand Prize

The winner of the Why Cloth Diapers Video Challenge will win a $1000 gift certificate (Canadian funds) from online natural parenting store bynature.ca and the use of the gift certificate is subject to the policies as presented on the bynature.ca website. This gift certificate can be redeemed at any of the bynature.ca shops, pregnancybynature.ca, babybynature.ca, kidsbynature.ca or playbynature.ca. There is no expiry date associated with the gift certificate and your odds of winning are based on the number of submissions received.

Disqualifying Remarks

Thank you for your participation. Our goal is to highlight the positive aspects of cloth diapers. As our mission states, we aim to provide parents with the information they need to help make better choices. We feel this can be accomplished without making them feel badly about any previous, current or future choice to use throw-away diapers.

While we are aware of the many health benefits to cloth diapers, and that there are arguments as to the toxicity of disposables, please avoid the use of scare tactics when creating your videos. We’d like to ensure the accuracy of any data presented. Statistics should be cited in credits or at the end of your presentation. Inaccurate information or scare tactics may result in your video being refused for entry into our contest.

Let’s show parents how excited we are about cloth diapering, and how much fun cloth diapers can be! You don’t see that with disposable diapers!

The Specifics

The Why Cloth Diapers video contest is open to citizens and residents of Canada and the continental United States. The contest will run from Thursday April 22, 2010 until 12 pm EST Friday May 28th, 2010. (Note: Due to a misprint in deadline dates we will accept video entries until Monday May 31, 12pm EST. The June 1st winner’s announcement will proceed as planned.) Entrant videos will be judged by Parenting By Nature based on the quality of content (40%), the ability to motivate parents to consider cloth diapers (30%) and overall appeal – originality, use of humour and showing cloth diapers in a positive light (30%).

You must own copyright of any submitted content. Please do not submit any videos or photos that are not your own. We will not host external links. If you require use of outside content that must be properly cited and not in violation of any copyright. By submitting an entry, you are giving bynature.ca permission to use your submission for marketing and advertising purposes on whyclothdiapers.com, bynature.ca (and it’s sister sites), ecobabysteps.com and any affiliated social media applications such as Facebook, Twitter etc.
